School partnerships in Scottish Green Energy Awards success
Stars of the renewables industry
The annual awards, which are organised by Scottish Renewables to highlight game-changing contributions to the renewables industry, bring together over 1,000 industry professionals for an evening of recognition and celebration.
Our winning entries
Our School partnered on two winning entries:
The Contribution to Skills Award was awarded to the Centre for Doctoral Training in Wind and Marine Energy Systems, which is the UK’s only comprehensive doctoral training programme in wind and marine energy. The award recognises the significant contribution that the CDT has made to the renewables workforce of today and tomorrow.
The CDT is co-hosted by the University of Strathclyde and by the Institute for Energy Systems in the School of Engineering, at the University of Edinburgh. The School's Markus Mueller and Ignazio Maria Viola are co-directors of the project for the University of Edinburgh.
Oustanding Project Award was given to Nova Innovation for its Enabling Future Arrays in Tidal (EnFAIT) Project, which works to accelerate the commercial viability of tidal energy. The School is a partner on this Horizon 2020 flagship €20m project, alongside private and public organisations including the Scottish Government.
